I knew she’d have an artistic streak. You can see it in her eyes. Or maybe that’s just the twinkle of mischief.
Not surprisingly our house is becoming a minor art gallery. Perhaps ‘installation’ would be a better description. At least that would explain the toy-induced clutter and chaos surrounding the growing number of drawings, paintings and collages on the walls.
Today though, our little darling has taken her artistic endeavours one step further: she’s exploring a new form - wall painting. Or more accurately wall crayoning.
She came to fetch us to show off her latest work. She was very pleased with herself. Dolly was already sitting next to the piece adorning the stairwell.
S beamed with pride.
I think it’s fair to say we had mixed emotions.
Still, we all learnt something from the experience. S is a budding Picasso. Mummy and Daddy shouldn’t leave crayons lying around. And at the risk of accusations of cultural vandalism, we discovered that toothpaste removes all traces of wax crayons from painted walls.
Every day’s a school day.
Someone should let Banksy know he has competition now.

Invest in Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They remove anything from walls...except non-water-based markers. DO NOT let S have markers until she is past this phase or you will be painting the stairway every weekend.
I know how you feel: on one hand you want to preserve the "art"; on the other, you want to preserve your home.
Just another example of parenting dilemmas.

I can hear Banksy shaking in his spray cans, Rob!
Oh Mrs RW! As if I'd let S near anything dangerous or destructive! Really!!! ;-)
